PLAN
The purpose of this plan is to increase understanding of the process of planning, introducing and implementing management changes in the institution, in order to improve effectiveness by the better utilization of resources.
Objectives of the plan:
The overall objective of the plan is to contribute to increased effectiveness of the institution. More specifically, the plan aims:
1) To study in the institution of higher education, the management of change designed to improve efficiency and the utilization of existing resources.
2 ) To trace the process from the initiation of the idea to its implementation and evaluation.
3) To evaluate the effectiveness of the change in terms of its original objectives.
4) To identify factors associated with successful introduction and implementation of management changes in the institution..
5) To draw practical lessons about ways of improving efficiency and utilization of resources in the institution, and their management implications.
Changes in the organization of the institution:
New forms of decision making structures and information flows;
the merger of separate institutions, departments of units;
the abolition closure of parts of an institution.
Changes in financial management and resource allocation:
Diversification of funding sources;
Changes in funding mechanisms (new forms of funding,
changes in the balance between the block grant and the specific earmarked grant, or changes in internal financial management).
Changes in teaching methods and delivery systems:
Changes in staff management, including staff development, recruitment and promotion procedures.
